We're a lucky bunch of car-buyers in the new year. The new cars that should be coming to showrooms near you in 2019, reads like a list of automotive buzzwords for the future, including all our all-time favourites. SUVs, Bharat Stage 6, plug-in hybrid, electric, autonomous cars and, in the case of a few anticipated launches on this list, a mix of most of the above combined! Here's your ready reckoner of the top new hatches, sedans, SUVs, hybrids, electric cars and luxury vehicles coming to India in 2019, to help you plan your purchase better.
HATCHBACKS

Maruti Suzuki has been tight-lipped about it, but we know it will be based on the Japanese-spec car (in terms of dimensions) with restyled exteriors more in tune with Indian sensibilities. Expect a new, more spacious cabin, the existing engines with an AMT option, and all the premium features you see on larger Marutis.

New-gen small Honda has hit-or-miss styling and loses the unique glass rear hatch, though it is a size larger than the previous Brio. Good news is the cabin is similar to what's on the new Jazz, so that does move it up a notch in terms of quality and space on offer.

We've seen it and wanted it at the Auto Expo last year, and Honda will do one better – the facelifted tenth gen Civic is what we'll get. Expect the new 1.6-litre diesel as in the CR-V, and the familiar 1.8-litre petrol under the hood.
How much? Rs 16-21 lakh, expected
When? Early-2019

New-gen sedan swaps curves for sharp, angular lines and distinctive triangular headlights. The cabin should be nicer too, with the new 8-inch floating touchscreen taking centre stage, apart from Hyundai's SmartSense passive safety technology making it safer than before.

BMW 3-Series

Tata will soon launch the all-new Harrier in the Indian market. The Harrier will be launched in the mid-size SUV segment that comprises of the Jeep Compass. However, it will be priced low enough to take on the Hyundai Creta and will compete against the 7-seater XUV 500 too! Here is a detailed comparison between all the cars that Tata Harrier will fight in the Indian market.

Exterior

The Tata Harrier gets most of the bells and whistles when it comes to the exteriors. It also looks the freshest and most unique in the market with the unique location of the headlamps and the LED DRLs. Comparing the features on the exteriors of all the three cars, the Tata Harrier gets a floating-type roof with bold chrome finishing with Harrier brand on it.
Only the XUV 500 gets the floating-roof type design with chrome finishing on the windows. Coming to the front of the vehicle, the Tata Harrier gets Xenon HID projector headlamps, which are extremely bright.

New 2019 hundai creta prices leaked ahead of luanch, to get ventilated  seats

Hyundai has had great success with their compact SUV Creta in the Indian market as well as various international markets. The Korean Automaker has updated its compact SUV time to time with new looks and features and this time for the 2019 model, the company is doing the same. As per a leaked document online, the 2019 Hyundai Creta compact SUV will get speed alert system and passenger seatbelt reminder as standard. The 2019 model will also get a new SX (O) Executive top of the range variant in addition to the existing E, E+, S, SX, SX Dual Tone and SX (O).

The new top of the line SX (O) variant will have similar features as on the SX (O) apart from the ventilated front seats. The new variant will be available with both 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine and 1.6-litre dual VTVT petrol engine. Both the engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The SX, SX Dual Tone, SX (O) and SX (O) Executive variants of 2019 Hyundai Creta will come with factory fitted LED tail lamps. The E, E+ and S grades will get a semi cloth seats. Other than these features the new MY2019 Hyundai Creta will remain same as the ongoing model.

It is expected that the company will announce the launch of the new model in the coming weeks. In the Indian market, the Hyundai Creta competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV 500, Jeep Compass and Renault Duster.
